Just bought a second-hand 1978 edition of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, the back cover of which says 'Although it is difficult, in the same way that Ulysses is difficult, it is rewarding.' Can you imagine anyone trying to promote a book in that way today?

Of all the conspiracy theories I've ever read on the internet, this one, claiming that pop-hating Frankfurt School philosopher Theodor Adorno secretly wrote all the Beatles' songs, is probably the best.
